Navigating through the market's staples to Mexico City's plates
This is a walk through the streets of Mexico City. We built this route to connect you with the actual rhythm of the city, moving beyond the surface to understand how this capital eats.
We start by navigating the capital like a local on the Metro. More than just a ride, it is a key part of life for millions of people here and your first encounter with the city’s energy as we head toward our first market stop. This is where the local trade happens, away from the typical tourist circuits.
Inside the market, the scent of spices, chiles, and flowers brought in from across the country fills the air. This is where the supply chain begins, and where the people who work here every day keep these traditions alive. We go directly to the stalls to taste different types of mole, esquites, seasonal fruits, and carnitas tacos served on tortillas made just moments before.
After the market, we return to the Metro to reach the heart of the city. As we walk, you will see how the ingredients from the market come to life at the street food stalls of the Centro Histórico ('Historic Center'). With over 14 unique tastings, we explore the diversity of the taco, sample pulque, and offer a chance to try edible insects. We finish the route with churros, the city's classic sweet ending, still warm.
Let's sit down together on a plastic stool, order more than we probably should, and eat the way this city actually does, one stall at a time.

DETAILS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFOREHAND:
+ This experience is not fully adapted for vegetarian or vegan diets, and please note that the tour does not include any fish or seafood tastings. However, depending on your level of flexibility, there are still plenty of options you can enjoy.
+ The tour includes 14 total tastings. If you are a flexible vegetarian who is comfortable with traditional cooking methods, such as dishes prepared with chicken broth or lard, you will be able to enjoy about 9 of these tastings (including seasonal fruits, mole samples, fresh tortillas, quesadillas, pulque, and more). However, if you follow a strict vegetarian or vegan diet, options are extremely limited, as most of our savory street food relies on meat and traditional stocks for its authentic flavor.
