Mexico City eats differently after dark. We built this route to explore the streets once the sun sets, finding the food locals look for after a day of work or at the end of a night out. It is a shift from the rush of the day to a quieter, later side of the city.

In this route, we go into a neighborhood shaped by its nighttime activity. You will see how the street stall acts as a community anchor, where locals gather to share food that is affordable and constant. These stalls are the stable points of the neighborhood, the ones that do not change regardless of the hour. Here, street food is not a convenience. It is a pillar of the community.

We move through the neighborhood to sample more than 13 options. We eat cochinita pibil, tamales, tostadas, tacos al pastor, and birria, among other local bites. These dishes provide a map of Mexico. They tell the story of how migration from across the country shaped what ended up on the capital's plates over the decades.

Mexicans have a name for most of what you will eat tonight, "vitamina T". It groups everything built on corn and masa, tacos, tostadas, tamales, tortas, food with no actual vitamin in it, but somehow it still fills you up better than the real ones ever could.
